The King will not just be striking in size, but will be a canvas for murals inside, and out. These works are intended to draw viewers from all viewpoints that are represented in the BRC’s participant population to be witnessed, experienced, and discussed. The dialogues that take place among participants are the aim of our collective to facilitate self-reflections of one’s experience related to patriarchal structures in our global society.

The exterior adornment was decided to be dedicated to male
representations of patriarchy. The four male figures are inspired by
historical, and contemporary depictions of patriarchal stereotypes framed by
familiar patterns, symbols, and depictions found surrounding visual ideas of
patriarchy.
The interior imagery transitions from the outside solely male
figures to stereotypical depictions of women as seen through the eyes of the
patriarchy. The complexity of all the different panels and their iconography as
it relates to the exterior, concepts of patriarchy, and the effect it has on
women will surround viewers as they explore the space from the base, as well as
if they climb to ascend to the observation deck.
